As Schools Match Wits logo

Best Wishes to the Granby As Schools Match Wits team for their scheduled match on Tuesday, Dec. 11th at 6:00 pm on the Westfield State College campus.

The team consists of: Masaru Ichihara, Neil Krulewitz, Sean Monaco, Cortney Robillard with Jesse Os as an alternate.

Dr. Arthur Krulewitz is coach.

MMEA Western District

Congratulations to the following Music Students who have been selected through audition to represent the Granby Public Schools in the Western Massachusetts Music Educators Association music festivals at the University of Massachusetts Fine Arts Center.

   Selected at the senior high level is Masaru Ichihara for violin in the orchestra and Neil Krulewitz for lead trumpet in the jazz ensemble. Both students have also qualified, based on their outstanding audition results, to audition for the All State Music Festival to be held at Symphony Hall in Boston.

   The following students have been selected at the junior high level. In orchestra are Bethany Quinlan on first oboe, Sarah Krulewitz on first horn, Abigail Imelio on third horn, and Tessa Cote on percussion. In band are Amanda Konieczny on tenor sax and Seth Archambault on euphonium. In chorus singing soprano are Kelsea Roule, Risley Dudley and Anna Jamieson and singing bass is Jon Schmieding. Finally, on lead trumpet in the jazz ensemble is Spencer Gagnon.

The American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor two girls from Granby Jr. Sr. High School to participate in the Massachusetts Girls’ State program.  These students are Sarah Cote, Grade 11 and Brittney McNamara, Grade 11.

They have been chosen for their many achievements in the classroom as well as in the community.

to participate in the Massachusetts Boys’ State program.  These students are Nathan Brunetti, Grade 11 and Sean Monaco, Grade 11.

They have been chosen for their many achievements in the classroom as well as in the community.

 

Congratualtions to Lauren Livingstone, Class of 2008, named to the Massachusetts All-Academic Basketball Team, sponsored by the Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association and the Red Auerbach Foundation .

Lauren will be recognized on Sunday, May 4th, at a recognition breakfast at The College of the Holy Cross, in Worcester.

He will be attending the conference in May.

"Congratulations to Abigail Imelio and Travis Roy on being selected as recipients of the Scholar Leader Award being sponsored by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Middle Level Educators and the New England League of Middle Schools. This honor is bestowed on eighth grade students who distinguish themselves in terms of outstanding scholarship and leadership. They were selected for this award because they demonstrate academic achievement, integrity, honesty, self-discipline and courage. They were recently honored at a dinner at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA where they were presented with an award and plaque."
