Members Present:  Cindy Sieffert, DD Connolly, Dawn Cooke

Visitors: 

·       The PAC reviewed The Special Education Parent Survey-Pilot and suggested the headings be in bold print in order to emphasize the point.  Also the response choices were not clear.

·       John Robert suggested the PAC address the school committee in the future.  This will be done in October or November as the new school year gets underway.

·       Our membership to MASS PAC will be renewed for another year.

·       Cindy Sieffert will draft a letter to John Robert, Director of Pupil Services concerning the need for Adaptive PE.

·       The PAC discussed ways to inform parents, teachers and the community as a whole of our purpose and message.  Dawn and Dee will work on articles for The Sentinel and Ch. 15.  There is no use in having work-shops and paying for speakers if no one comes.  Discussed other ways to” get the word out.”

·       Dawn nominated Michael Stapert for PAC Teacher Appreciation Award.  Cindy seconded the nomination and all members were in favor.

·        Six nomination papers were received. The 3^rd grade SPED team as well as G. Desautels and Mrs. Hauschild were nominated.  We are looking into honoring all nominations.

 

 ACTION ITEMS: 

·       Cindy will email Dawn the logo/letterhead to use for minutes etc...

·       Pizza Party for life Skills class for designing logo??

·       Cindy S. did an excellent job re-doing PAC brochure.  Thank you Cindy.

                       Next scheduled for Tuesday June 6^th @ 6:30 in the
                     East Meadow School.

·       Next meeting scheduled for March 15, 2006 @ 6:30 in the East Meadow library.

 

Action Items 

Cindy S. will take care of web site.  It was down for a couple of days.  It also now has a counter.  It is important to keep in up to date. 

Dawn will get old PAC brochure to DD and she will up date it.  Also to include that the PAC has a parent library at E. Meadow.  Cindy will get the brochure when done to RISO for color printing, to be distributed in time for end of the year team meetings.

There might be a charge for RIZO.  See John about budget.

Dawn will get PAC stuff from Cindy Stone.

Tinker is looking over contents of books etc... that came from Mass PAC to put in parent library.
