The High Schooler's Guide to the Galaxy
By Bryan Starchman
December 14-15-167:00pm

December 172:00pm

Four students stare out at the audience. Tomorrow they start their freshman year of high school. There are so many things to worry about: class schedules, bullies, cafeteria food, dating, parents’ expectations, what to wear, and worst of all … gym class!

These students need a survival guide and that’s exactly what this play attempts to do with hilariously embarrassing and awkward results. Watch as our guides take us through the gauntlet that is high school. Find out the appropriate way to boogie down at high school dances, discover creative ways to get out of gym class, and take a peek into the most top secret of all rooms on campus: the mysterious teachers’ lounge.

Meetings: Tuesdays as announced 2:30-3:30p

Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:30-5:00p (transportation required)

Granby's "Standing Room Only" drama club formed in 2015 and, depending on the show, is open to Granby students in grades 7-12 or 4-12 interested in performing on stage or working on the costumes, stage crew, or technical crew (ie. lights and sound). You do not need to attend all meetings or be in all the shows to participate. Come get involved however you are able to.

Jr/Sr High Club members help shape the group's activities, however plans include two shows (one in the fall and one in the winter) and a theater field trip in the spring to see a Broadway Musical.

Show rehearsals for cast members will generally be Tuesday and Thursday 2:30-5:00p. The week of the show includes daily extended rehearsals - typically 2:00-6:00p.

There is a $25 participation fee for each show. Financial assistance is available.

Transportation is the responsibility of the student/family.

Club advisors are Mr. Greg Williams and Ms. Dawn Larder.
